Upgrading your RAM truck's manual driver seat to a full power-adjustable setup is one of the best comfort and convenience improvements you can make. However, many owners who attempt this upgrade hit a frustrating roadblock: finding a direct replacement power seat that perfectly matches their truck's interior—especially the popular Diesel Gray Alloy cloth—is nearly impossible from the factory. In this guide, we'll walk you through the two paths for achieving a full power driver's seat. We'll show you whether to hunt for a replacement or convert your existing seat, and detail exactly what you need to get the job done right.
Option 1: Completely Replace The Driver Seat
If your front seats are already really worn out, you may be looking for a complete replacement. If this is the case, the task seems simple: Find a driver seat, in your same material, with power adjustments already in there, in good condition. If you've gone down this street, you know it's not nearly that simple.
RAM rarely offered the same material in power seats that they did in manual. It was never offered in Diesel Gray Alloy Cloth. Bark Brown cloth and Black cloth both received power options. If you have black or brown, look for a complete seat. If you have diesel gray, continue to option 2 below.
