XL Trim (Work and Base)
Colors & Material
- Ebony (Black) Premium Cloth: The standard interior for the base model. For the 6th Gen, this cloth has been upgraded with a more modern, textured weave compared to previous generations.
- Ebony (Black) Vinyl: Typically restricted to fleet orders or the STX appearance package when specified. It provides a wash-down capable surface for heavy-duty use.
Interior Features:
- Bucket Seats: Standard fitment with a new, more contoured design.
- Screens: The defining feature of the XL is now the 10.1-inch vertical touchscreen and 8-inch digital gauge cluster, which replace the analog gauges of the previous gen.
- Console: A redesigned center console with a mechanical gear shifter (unlike the e-shifter found in higher trims). It typically lacks the rear air vents and USB-C/A charging ports found on XLT and up.
XLT Trim
Colors & Material
- Ebony (Black) Premium Cloth: Similar to the XL but adds distinct pattern inserts and contrast stitching.
- Sandstone (Beige/Grey) Premium Cloth: Replaces the "Medium Stone" of the previous generation. This two-tone option features a darker upper dash/door panel with lighter seating surfaces and lower dash areas, creating a more open cabin feel.
Interior Features:
- Power Seats: The XLT usually features manual passenger seats, but the driver often gains 8-way power adjustment (check for Equipment Group 301A/High Package).
- Tech Upgrades: XLT interiors often add a wireless charging pad in the front console area.
- Console: Upgraded with a soft-touch armrest, rear air vents, and USB-A/USB-C charging ports for rear passengers.
Lariat Trim
Colors & Material
- Ebony (Black) Leather-Trimmed: Standard perforated leather seating surfaces with tuxedo-style stitching.
- Sandstone (Beige) Leather-Trimmed: The luxury alternative to black, featuring light leather inserts and matching soft-touch surfaces on the doors and console.
Interior Features:
- Screens: Upgrades to the massive 12-inch vertical touchscreen and 12-inch full digital instrument cluster.
- Power Seats: Standard 10-way power driver and 8-way power passenger seats. Memory settings for the driver are typically included.
- E-Shifter: Lariat models are easily identified by the short-throw "E-Shifter" electronic gear selector, replacing the mechanical stick found in XL and XLT.
- Push-Button Start: Standard, along with Intelligent Access (keyless entry).
Raptor Off-Road Package
Colors & Material
Ebony With Code Orange: The Raptor features a dedicated interior unavailable on other trims. It uses specialized "Ford Performance" seats with heavy bolstering.
Accents: Distinctive Code Orange stitching, seat piping, and seatbelt webbing. The steering wheel features a red 12 o'clock marker and magnesium paddle shifters.
6th Gen Ranger OEM Interior Upgrades
Power Seat Upgrades
XL & Base: You will almost certainly need to add power and ground to these seats, as the body harnesses are often VIN-specific and lack unused pigtails.
XLT: While the driver's side is usually pre-wired, the passenger side is frequently manual. Check the floor connector for heavy-gauge power wires before attempting a swap.
Heated Seat Warning: In the 6th Gen Ranger, heated seats are controlled entirely through the Sync 4A touchscreen. There are no physical buttons. Because this function is logic-driven by the APIM (Accessory Protocol Interface Module), adding factory heated seats to a truck that didn't come with them is extremely difficult and may require extensive software programming (FORScan) or aftermarket physical switches bypassing the screen. We can install seat heaters with standalone control modules and switches onto any seat we sell for an additional cost.
