12th Gen Ford F-150 Interior Options (2009 - 2014)

2009-2010: The Classic Interior

This generation's interior debuted in 2009, establishing a new standard for comfort and utility. The 2010 models were largely a carry-over, but introduced the high-performance SVT Raptor and the luxurious Harley-Davidson special editions, as well as the 4x2-focused FX2 sport trim.

XL

The base work-truck trim, featuring a durable vinyl 40/20/40 split-bench front seat and black vinyl floor covering. A cloth 40/20/40 seat was available as part of the XL Décor Group.

STX

A step up, the STX (Sport Truck) featured a standard cloth 40/20/40 split-bench seat with driver-side manual lumbar support.

XLT

The high-volume mid-range trim, upgrading to premium cloth 40/20/40 split-bench seats and color-coordinated carpeting. Interior colors were typically Medium Stone or Camel.

FX4 / FX2 (2010+)

The sport-oriented trims featured standard sport cloth front bucket seats with a flow-through center console and floor shifter. Sport leather-trimmed seats were available as an option. The interior was primarily Black.

Lariat

This luxury trim made leather-trimmed seating standard , typically as a 40/20/40 split-bench with a 10-way power, heated driver and passenger seat. Leather-trimmed captain's chairs (bucket seats) with a center console were optional. Woodgrain-style trim accents were also standard. Interior colors were Camel or Black leather.

King Ranch

Offered a unique, Western-themed luxury interior. It featured standard Chaparral leather-trimmed, 10-way power, heated and cooled front bucket seats and a matching heated rear bench. The flow-through console and steering wheel were also wrapped in Chaparral leather.

2011-2012: Interior Refinements

For 2011, interior materials and features were largely carried over. 2011 saw the one-year-only Lariat Limited trim. In 2012, the Harley-Davidson interior was updated, a new FX Appearance Package debuted, and the Raptor's optional accent color changed.

XL

Remained the base trim with a standard vinyl 40/20/40 split-bench seat.

STX

Standard cloth 40/20/40 split-bench seat.

XLT

Standard premium cloth 40/20/40 split-bench seat.

FX2 / FX4

Standard sport cloth front bucket seats with a flow-through console.

2012 FX Appearance Package

This new package offered a unique interior with sport leather-trimmed seats featuring bold red piping and perfs, plus unique finishes on the console and instrument panel.

Lariat

Standard leather-trimmed 40/20/40 split front seat with 10-way power and heat. Heated and cooled leather bucket seats were optional.

2011 Lariat Limited

A special-edition trim for 2011 only, featuring unique two-tone perforated leather-trimmed heated/cooled bucket seats, a serialized plate on the console, and a two-tone leather-wrapped steering wheel.

King Ranch

Continued with its signature Chaparral perforated leather on heated/cooled front bucket seats.

2013-2014: New Colors and Materials

The 2013 model year brought new interior styles and updated materials to several trims, and the Harley-Davidson edition was discontinued. The 2014 model year was largely a carry-over but introduced the Tremor package , a new SVT Raptor Special Edition , and updated the Limited trim's interior color.

XL

  • Standard vinyl 40/20/40 split-bench seat.

STX

  • Standard cloth 40/20/40 split-bench seat. The 2014 model year offered a new STX Sport Package with Black and Gray cloth 40/console/40 bucket seats in SuperCab and SuperCrew models.

2012: The interior was updated again, this time to a "Black and snakeskin" two-tone perforated leather-trimmed seat design. It kept the serialization plate and badging. This was the final year for the Harley-Davidson edition.

2013: Featured unique full-grain Brick Red perforated leather-trimmed seats.

2014: The interior was updated to a new unique Marina Blue premium leather-trimmed seat.

Center Console and Jump Seat Swaps

Mounting The Console / Jumpseat

The holes are the same for the regular center console and jumpseat - this swap is very direct and only takes a few minutes. The mounting bracket may or may not be pre-drilled. If the bracket isn't pre-drilled, simply through-bolt or have a nut plate welded on.

A flow-through console conversion also requires a shifter conversion, which is a bit more in-depth.

Seatbelt Options

  • Regular Cab Trucks use a three-point seatbelt that comes down from the rear wall, fastening onto the center seat.
  • Supercab and SuperCrew Trucks were equipped with a lap belt for early model years, and a 3-point seatbelt for later model years.

Adding Power Seats

Mounting The Seats

The holes are the same. Simply remove your old seats by undoing the four mounting bolts and unplugging the wiring harness. Install your new seats, plug them in and you're good to go!

Wiring Considerations

The floor plugs didn't change significantly during this generation, but adding heated seats or memory seats is technical and time consuming. Wiring instructions for bypassing memory are available with purchase. Getting heating & cooling working in the XL/XLT model is possible but requires in-house modifications. Contact us for details.
