T1 Tahoe, Suburban & Yukon Interior Upgrades
Power Seat Installation
Using Seats Without Memory
You should expect a plug-and-play installation under most circumstances. If you have a W/T Trim or Fleet vehicle you may need to run an additional power and ground wire. The seat plugs are physically the same throughout the entire generation, though options do change wiring.
Using Seats With Memory
In addition to the regular power the seats need from the vehicle to operate, these seats also need a ignition-on (or accessory-on) source to turn on the relay box that controls the seat motors. Expect some light wiring work.
Using Our Conversion Kit
If you're looking for the most cost-efficient way to add a power driver seat to your GM T1 SUV, contact us about our driver seat conversion kits, available from $999.
GM Power Sliding Center Console
Introduced with the 2021 and available on mid-to-high trims (such as the SLT, Premier, High Country, and Denali), this feature transforms the center armrest from a static storage bin into a motorized utility tool. With the press and hold of a switch located on the overhead console, the entire armrest assembly—including cup holders and the main bin—electric slides backward up to 10 inches toward the second row.
This movement offers two distinct practical benefits. First, it bridges the gap for rear passengers; when the console is slid back, it places cup holders and climate controls within easier reach of those sitting in the second-row captain's chairs. Second, it creates a massive amount of open floor space between the front driver and passenger seats. This newly revealed gap is the perfect size for stowing a large purse, a backpack, or a bag of takeout food, keeping the front footwells clear and clutter-free.
The best feature, however, is hidden from plain view. When the console slides back, it reveals a secret, locking storage drawer located near the floorboards that is completely inaccessible when the unit is in the forward position. This hidden vault is ideal for stashing valuables like wallets, phones, or tablets. For added security, the system is integrated with the vehicle's Valet Mode; when activated, the console electronically locks in the forward position, ensuring that the hidden drawer remains strictly off-limits to anyone else driving your vehicle.
Tahoe, Yukon, and Suburban: Second and Third Row Seat Swaps
Second Row Seat Swaps
The second row of the T1 is now the same between the short and long wheelbase versions. Tahoe, Yukon, and Escalade use the shorter wheelbase. Suburban, Yukon XL, and Escalade ESV use the longer wheelbase. You can interchange bucket and bench seats.
Third Row Seat Deletes (And Un-Deletes)
Third row seats were standard on most of the SUVs, however there were a few options for a factory third row delete. Factory third row deletes can be found in the SSV (Special Service Vehicle), PPV (Police Pursuit Vehicle), and 1FL (Fleet) trim Chevy and GMC SUVs.
To un-delete your third row seat, you will also need the trunk board and three new seatbelts.
